HISTORY of INS KHUKRI F-149

Introduction

INS Khukri (F-149) was a Khukri-class missile corvette of the Indian Navy, commissioned on 23 August 1989. Named after the traditional Nepali dagger, Khukri, this ship was a symbol of India's naval prowess and modernization efforts. It was equipped with advanced weaponry, including Surface-to-Surface Missiles, Medium Range Guns, Anti-Aircraft Shoulder Launched Missiles, and Close-in Weapon Systems. Its aviation capabilities included the operation of Chetak and Advanced Light Helicopters.
